Adamawa trains 150 women in bakery


The Local Apprenticeship Scheme (LAS) of the Adamawa State Government has trained 150 women in bakery and each of the beneficiaries has been given baking machine to make them self-reliant.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the trainees in Yola, the LAS Project Manager, Alhaji Sani Jada, said those trained were from the central zone and that similar trainings would be organised for women in the southern and northern senatorial zones of the state.
According to Jada, the training was undertaken in conjunction with the Home Economics Unit of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola and the North-East Entrepreneurship Development Centre.
He stated that those trained would be given free oven as well as assistance to access facility from financial institutions to establish their businesses.
The Provost of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola  Prof. Abdulmumini Sa’ad, commended the state government for the LAS programme and assured that  the institution would continue to partner with the government in its empowerment programmes.
