The Whites currently sit three points clear of second-placed Liverpool, although the Merseyside outfit have played a game less. Southampton are third on 29 points – six behind Fulham.
Last time out, Fulham earned a 3-0 win over bottom side Blackburn Rovers at Motspur Park thanks to a brace from Lyle Della Verde and a Moussa Dembélé penalty.
Southampton will be looking for a fourth consecutive victory following wins over Tottenham Hotspur (1-0), Manchester City (2-1) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (3-0).
Sam Gallagher, a scorer in Southampton’s first-team win against Norwich City on Saturday, is set to be included in their squad, while exciting teenager Jake Hesketh could also feature.
